Today we slept in and missed the free breakfast in the Executive Club. The coffee is really good there so we got our cups to go and headed for the Musèe Rodin.

The Arc de Triomphe is a part of a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares from the Louvre to the Grande Arche de La Defénse. It took 30 years to build and it was modeled after the Arch of Titus in Rome.

The Eiffel Tower was built for the 1889 Worlds Fair to celebrate the centennial of the French Revolution. It took 2 years to build and at that time the French did not welcome it. They thought it was ugly. Originally it was to be taken down after a few years and Eiffel found a way to made the Iron Lady useful by adding radio antenna for military use.

We never made it to see Rodins sculptures because of the protests everywhere!!! Luckily we can always find a wonderful cafe for a bite to eat and some Aperol Spritz! I practiced my French using my index cards.

At one point Nick hadn’t touched his Aperol Spritz and it was full and I switched it with mine that was 1/3 done. He didn’t notice. Or maybe he didn’t say anything.

The Metro station was right next to the brassiere so we opted to take it to go see Shakespeare & Co Booksellers. And – of course – grab a pastry at Odettes.

Saint Julien Le Pauvre is a Catholic Church completed in Golic and Romanesque style in the 13th century.

It is said the owner doesn’t like macarons so you can’t buy them here only choux pastries.

Dinner was late and a short walk from the hotel.

And now some Profiteroles!!!
