Day 2 – 6/5/22 – Charleston, WV – Summer Road-trip

Well, it was a quick visit and on to our next stop on the way to Michigan!!!

First we got a fabulous breakfast buffet for free!

First we left Georgia. Welcome to South Carolina!!!

Then we left South Carolina and entered beautiful North Carolina!

Then we left North Carolina and entered Virginia!

Then it was goodbye Virginia and hello to West Virginia!!!

In no time we were at Charleston, WV and the dome of the capital greeted us. Definitely the most beautiful exterior dome I’ve ever seen!

After settling in at our hotel we decided to venture out for dinner. The list that the hotel gave us was too long but I noticed many of the restaurants were on Capitol Street and Hale Street. We headed to those streets. Turned out Capitol was blocked off and tables were in the middle of the street. We ended up at Pies and Pints.

Gotta love that Woolworth is still kinda around!
The inside of Pies and Pints.
Craft beer and pizza! Can’t get much better than that!
I thought this building really looked like a customs building. But Nick read the inscription on the side and he said it was built as a post office.

This last one was just another gorgeous building. We really enjoyed walking around the downtown area. This is a very cute town and I love that it’s right on a river! We saw lots of fun boats playing around!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
