Italy Wedding 2021 – Nice airport, Saint Tropez, Tahiti Beach

Nice France – Le Méridien Hotel. 9/6/2021

Within our Covid times – we must go test for the virus. Luckily the wait was not bad and the crowds were not yet big. We got in and out quickly and tested Negative so we get to fly back home to Tampa. It has been rather easy coming in to France, going to Italy and back and even moving about in both countries. However, the US has such restrictions on going back!!! I am shocked!

Then on to see the Saint Tropez area!

The area is packed with family fun things and lots of campgrounds. The Europeans like to camp!

When we got to Saint Tropez we discovered some of the most amazing yachts! Nick wants so much to make friends!

Wait… is that Nick heading to Hermès?

I love this man!

But I said no! No reason to get an overpriced scarf – I don’t need it to be beautiful! I’d probably rather have new golf equipment anyhow!

This is the pastry that originated here in St Tropez. La Tarte Tropézienne!
Strange street art.

Next a drive to Tahini Beach.

Could the roads be more narrow?

Nick stopped here. He said he has been here several times and the views and accommodations were spectacular. It was!

Maybe we will come back to stay!

Next up was the beach! Tahini Beach was amazing for its views and clear water!

Several yachts anchored.

Heading back was challenging. Waze wanted us to go the zig zagging and squiggly way – instead of the coastal road.

I kept seeing vineyards and wanted to stop. But it was making a long drive longer. So Nick promised to take me back.

Just beautiful nature all around us!

We arrived at this one area that seem especially ominous. The driving was treacherous and the entire area looks like it was just up in flames! Hoping it was a controlled burn. And it did seem that way because of the small area it effected.

Not soon enough we reached the Autobahn. I had read about the Grand Canyon in Rick Steves book but I did not know I would be able to see it from the autobahn.

Gorges de Vernon

Finally back in Nice where the fabulous architecture greeted us!

This was just a company’s offices!

Then we decided to go to the rooftop of Le Méridien for dinner and great views! Our server was a student at the University studying Hotel Management and also a transplant from Shanghai China! Sweet girl but Nick said that she needs to learn better French.

Buffalo and tomatoes with pesto!
Lemon Tart for dessert!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
