Wow! We did it!!! Got up early to be part of the second wave but we found about 200 million bugs everywhere!

10 hours, 10 locks, 75 miles and only 4 sandwiches. What a huge accomplishment! We could not have done it without Terry & Racquel! They are locking experts! The day started at Canadian Customs where I had my pepper spray taken away from me! Thanks Nick for giving me up – I guess pepper spray is illegal to our friendly neighbors to the north. Bye bye…

Fort Montgomery was built in the Canadian side of the border and so it is also known as Fort Blunder.
Then onward to Canadian Bridges! ![]()

It was a long day! But it went smoothly and quickly! We were having a blast listening to Terry and Nicks stories!
Approaching the first lock of the day.

All the locks were hand crank locks to open and shut the doors as well as letting water in and out of the lock. ![]()

The crew on the bow figuring it all out for the first time! All these locks were descending and only about 7 ft. ![]()

There was this beautiful bike path that paralleled the canal but it was frustrating. Because we had to go so slow, all the bikers were passing us! This is the bridge to nowhere. ![]()
Terry and Racquel did a great job on the stern!![]()

Every time we thought we had one behind us another one was upon us.

Then we saw the Chambly Basin! Beautiful mountains and huge drop! it was 2 different series of 3 locks one after the other.

The people enjoyed watching me or maybe it was Racquel. I don’t know – they were shouting “she’s a beauty”. So I think it was me – not sure.

Door opens to another lock.
Let’s play, spot the beaver in Canada.

So then the final 3.

The view was spectacular!

The crowds were from a local festival. But it felt like the paparazzi all over again.

Here is a time lapse recap.
We reached the Basin and the Sunday traffic was heavy!

We saw a few cable ferry’s with cars on them.

Beautiful church’s!

Almost to Sorel! It was in Sorel that the Christmas Tree made its first appearance in North America in 1781.

We got to our marina where Racquel and I checked in and asked for a free map that we saw on the wall. Well, he couldn’t find anymore maps but wanted to please us so he ripped that one off the wall and gave it to us – paint chips and all!

Sorel also has their very own Epcot ball and it had fire and ice images on it tonight!
The food was amazing at this spot Terry found. It’s name was Crazy Years in French. And we ate every las bit but the livers!

Wine flights were also called for!

Then a nightcap on the patio. Playing the ABC game with PacMan!
Then a stroll through the park with these ladies.

And we found our way back!

Song of the day : Jack Johnson “Better together”
This is amazing! Locks remind me of the European River cruise, Russell and I did 2 yrs ago! Have fun and keep us updated!
