Day seventy six @ Farley State Marina Golden Nugget, Atlantic City, NJ

Ok… this is being written the next morning and there are a few reasons why.

Reason #1

We left Cape May and we were facing 5 ft swells in the Atlantic. It sounds bad but the wind and waves would be in our direction. I got everything tied down and secure and Nick reached out to our good friend Jim. Nick just talked about the best way to attack the waves and how the fetch might effect us. Jim gave some great advice.

I never seemed to have my video when we got swells over the bow and windshield.

It was like being on a roller coaster without being able to see what is coming and not being strapped in anywhere.

This was very different than the chop we experienced in the trip from Keys to Miami or anywhere in the Bahamas. Because the fetch was so long it really made me nauseous!

Hard to really show you what it was like. But maybe this describes it best…

This is our friend Deb who works in the pentagon. Oh and I should add, she is a retired Navy herself! Thank you Deb!

Of course we made it and we have the battle scars to prove it.

She wasn’t the only one I texted a similar message. So thank you to everyone that messaged me during that tough run!

After we got through that part and Nick peeled me off the floor, I helped get us in the slip.

Reason #2

Nick had to do it without any power steering! He did it old school with old fashioned throttle helm. I went straight to bed and took a nap! So once I woke up we met these awesome neighbors from Delray Beach! Then Reneé arrived!

Reason #3

Always a great time! We made spaghetti in the Instapot and played Carcassonne! Reason #4

None of us were the least bit tired. So we went gambling.

Escalator selfie!!!

We played blackjack and Let it Roll! Renee almost got a Royal Flush! One card away from $95k. It was a late night. We got back to the boat around 2 am! Thanks Reneé! More fun on store tomorrow!

Song of the day: Let’s get Together! From Disney’s The Parent Trap.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
