Day forty six @ Barefoot Marina, North Myrtle Beach, SC

Today was a terrific weather day although a bit cooler than I’m used to. It was about 65 in the morning and it warmed up to only 78. We dropped the dinghy and snooped around the ICW.

Since it’s Tuesday we went to Taco Mundo. What a cool place!

It was a great combination of Day of the Dead, westling masks and Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The food and drink was perfect!

Once we finished we walked around the little touristy village they had there!

We loved walking in and out of each little shop. And they really did not feel like they were owned by a big company. They had local charm! Like this place… I thought everyone made their beef jerky at home!

Then it was back to find the dinghy.

Got it! Nick and I wanted to take a photo in this poke your head thru thing and this old man assumed he could just walk right in our photo!

Retake!

After some great shenanigans we decided to explore on the water.

Oh. There’s the dinghy.

Michelle and Jeff joined us. And we went 5 miles up the river to Local Kitchen and Bar. It was adorable!

It was a margarita kinda day!

Everyone got some kinda food. I kept asking the waitress for a cookie but she never focused on that. Here is what Jeff got. Salad and clams.

Michelle got wings.

And I got a brownie with ice cream.

totally loved their swing set!

I got a terrible sliver from the docks!

Then the trip back.

After we took an Uber to Kroger and stocked up. Saw the boot on a golf cart at our resort. Lmao!

Tomorrow we head to Oak Island and Southport. Should be perfect weather again!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!

  1. Be sure and visit the AGLCA Harbor Host, Robert Creech. He and his wife are a wealth of information. He lives on the hillside as you walk into town in Southport. (House with US flag and MIA flag flying). Has a great handout of info on the entire NC coast. Loved Southport.
