Day thirty eight @ Wexford Plantation Yacht & Golf Club, Hilton Head Island, SC

Departing a great town like Savannah was hard. The Westin in our rear view mirror. The bridge to Savannah. I really loved it and I want to go back to discover more fun! But we had to move on to Hilton Head Island. Michelle was able to get us two nights at a Clearwater Yacht Club reciprocity Club it’s called Wexford. The cruise there was filled with nature! These homes overlooked nature’s best!

Their view.

Just beautiful! Then these pelicans were sharing a sitting spot.

A very cool lighthouse signaled the famous golf course Harbour Town.

Then we passed some very jelly fish!

I know there are over 2,000 types of jellyfish but I couldn’t tell you a name of one of the types.

It’s like it was a party for them! There was a group of about 8 kayakers right near these guys. Also, a Monarch butterfly crossed our bow from starboard to port and I mentioned they are going extinct and are on the endangered species list. I don’t think the Captains cared so much.

Once we arrived we had to wait while Breakaway entered the lock first. Once they were in and tied off in their slip we went. It was tight! We made it just fine and it didn’t take long. It was an ascending lock of only 6 inches. We found our spot quickly and we were greeted by the Yacht Clubs Commodore! What a great welcome! Then we got ready for the pool! The pool was nice! New chairs and every couple chairs had a big umbrella!

Nick and Jeff discovered a basketball court! It was right next to a playground.

Jump shot in flip flops!

Then it was time to play in the Add On Dinghy.

We saw several homes and large boats we’d like to own!

What a great neighborhood! Some of the homes had views of the marina and the golf course!

We gotta meet some of these new friends! Hopefully on the golf course or at docktails tomorrow.

Headed out to a great Italian spot for dinner.

We found a fun Uber driver that took us to a nice grocery store where we got stocked up! He has triplets at home so we had to tip him times 3!

Quote of the day: How cold does it get here? I could live here!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
