A rainbow waved goodbye from Hawks Cay!

Boating from Duck Key to Miami Beach is a five hour ride. But with rain and 3 to 4 ft chop with white caps it felt like 8 hours.

We left at about 7:45 am but earlier didn’t mean quiet. The seas were rough. We did the outside with all four boats. Rendezvous and Madame definitely went faster but not sure if they fared it better.
Breakfast was bread and butter. No toast nothing!!!! I couldn’t do anything in the boat, we were rocking so much!

As soon as we arrived I checked in with the Dockmaster’s office and we were required to put a $200 deposit for 2 keys! Why can’t the Miami Beach Yacht Club secretly break the technology that the hotels have for their keys? Now I’m nervous about losing the key!!! Jumped in an Uber right away to collect my Amazon purchase at this Whole Foods I found nearby. That was my first time doing that and I got my package just fine! Grabbed some groceries while I was there!

On the drive back I was successful at capturing some of Miami on camera.

As I make my way back through this rather large Yacht Club – I see familiar faces at the tiki bar. Martha and Steve Golby joined the group! And I also see Diana, Barbi, Tom, Kathy and Rick all enjoying a cocktail by the pool.
They are a fun group for sure!
Barbi and Michelle found the laundry room, while a couple guys went to fix a broke AC on the Breakaway. Good news is Jeff was able to get the repairs included in his warranty!
Nick and I were chatting it up with a dock neighbor when we found out he boats every year down the Mississippi from Ephriham, WI (Door Co). He insisted we not miss the North Channel which is just prior the Mackinac Bridge.

After a cocktail aboard the Aquasition We all settled on hitting up the recommendation of Jeff’s AC repairman. We walked over to the Big Pink. Apparently, it gets its name because Pink Floyd used to eat there. Food was great! Home cooking and friendly staff!

Jeff got the Lightning vs Maple Leafs game on for us!
Lime Chicken!
Michelle got Fried Meatloaf and we all tried a bite! Delicious!

Tonight’s cocktail on the boat was Cucumber Lime Vodka with tonic and juice of half a lime.
Cocktail at Big Pink: The Big Pink Cosmo!
Issue: don’t lose the $100 key!!! And where is Michelle’s arm?
