Getting to the gulf from Sarasota YC is not that easy. We took the ICW to Venice and cut there to the Gulf. Great run to Marco Island although you gotta be on your toes for that wide right turn that’s not obvious before you swing back to port to get into the channel! They gave us a wide birth at dock A117 which was easy to maneuver into. Meeting up with Jerry and Rose was a bonus – – a fabulous dinner and a ride to Publix was huge!!!
We are looking at an 8:30am departure for Hawk’s Cay tomorrow morning – – happy to go somewhere pretty familiar that has just opened after hurricane damage from last year!!!
Going from the 46GT to the 52 Carver is like adjusting from driving a sports car to maneuvering a class A motor home – – but hours behind the helm are making it not so bad!
Looking forward to Hawk’s Cay and a few down days to get things set for the Bahamas
