Our last early morning breakfast before the long van ride to Split. Such an amazing view! I definitely want to come back to Hotel Excelsior in Dubrovnik!

The views were spectacular but it was good to get out and stretch our legs a bit. The vineyard came up just in time! We stopped at Miloš Vineyard and did a tour and tasting. This is one of the oldest vineyards in Croatia and boasts the Plavac Mali grape. The Miloš family moved to the region about 500 years ago and have been making wine ever since. Two surprising things are 1) they are totally 100% organic and 2) they have no irrigation system and it only rains about 4 days in the summer.

Next up is the town of Ston. It is a fishing village known for its oysters.

This bridge links Croatia’s southern Adriatic coast, including Dubrovnik, with the rest of the country, bypassing a narrow strip of Bosnian territory. It was only opened in July 2022. The driver, Peter, implied China built the bridge for Croatia and it sounded like Croatians feel that they are nice or good for doing it. But when I searched for an article on the bridge it said that Croatia and the European Union set aside 357€ for the 55meter high bridge that connected Croatias lower portion with their mainland.

We made it to the boat in Split! It was a very overcast day so the Captain wanted to shove off as soon as possible.

The sunset was like the embers of a fire when it’s slowly burning out.
