10/07/22 – Milan Airport via Padua, Italy

On our drive out of Venice we saw this company that Nick was familiar with so I was required to take a picture.

Next came our approach to Padua. You could see the basilica from quite a distance.

Once we found the public parking we walked over to pay and the archway led us to the only island piazza and it surrounded by white statues. It was beautiful to see! We were both in Aw for a few moments. Then we notice a spot for pizza and grabbed lunch!

This was so inspiring! It was in the ladies room at the restaurant! I’m happy to see these make a comeback!

And there is St Anthony’s Basilica! It is the second most pilgrimaged place for Christians next to the Vatican. Construction of the basilica began around 1232 only a year after St Anthony’s death.

The art was amazing in this holy spot!

This is Altichiero’s Crucifixion and is one of the most significant paintings of the late 14th century.
This is where the body of St Anthony still lays. They took his vocal cords, his chin and his tongue out for display. He was an amazing speaker and was know to talk and convert people with his eloquent words.

Once you walk through there is a beautiful atrium. I could have spent all afternoon there!

This is a better view of the island inside the piazza and the white statues.

The city of Padua has a very old wall around it. Some of it still exists today. I took some photos of it.

We got to our hotel at the Milan airport and they had an Emotional Shower in the workout room. It was hilarious!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
