10/06/22 – Venice, Italy

We took a smaller more private boat to Murano to see the glass blowing. Murano was initially settled by the Romans. Although early on it was primarily popular for its fishing and salt exports it became a major port for trade and then eventually the glass blowing capital of Europe! Glass was made in Venice but because the building of glass makers often caught on fire they deemed it too dangerous for Venice and moved it to Murano around 1291.

Check out the Moroccan influence.

We really enjoyed walking around but working to use the water bus was too much so we got a personal taxi for our last evening!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
