9/28/22 – Milano, Italy

Day two in Milano!!! Dealing with a little bit of jet lag we got up late and meteveryone for lunch at the Galleria.

Then just hanging around the hotel was totally worth it! The small bar in the lobby was very accommodating and had everything!

Then it was time to meet up with the tour guide. She took us to the outskirts of Milan where DaVinci painted the Last Supper. But first we went to a building where our guide purchased the tickets and there was a coffee shop. We walked through that area to fine the home that DaVinci lived in while he painted the Last Supper.

The Santa Maria seller Grazie where the art is located. DaVinci painted it from 1495-1498.

The painting is on a wall of a room that was originally used as a refectory.

On the other side of the room is the Crucifixion painted Giovanni Donato da Montorfano.

This was a painted sign from WWII that showed the Italian where to exit the street when the US and Allies were bombing them.

We then headed to visit the medieval castle of the Sforza family. These were very wealthy people who were the ones responsible for commissioning DaVinci for the Last Supper painting. There were about 3 or 4 museums inside this castle. It had its own lake, large grassy park and a moat.

The Sforza family seal.

After the tour we found our way through Milan and stopped for a quick dinner then the hotel! Great day!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
