7/30/22 – Traverse City, Michigan

This morning we got up and went exploring for wineries. We found a very nice old schoolhouse that was converted into a winery. We really loved this place. They also had some cider!

Another winery on our way to the lighthouse.

I just love this hidden beach next to the lighthouse.

This is an oil house to fuel and heat the lighthouse.

Then it was off to the lavender fields.

We had tickets to the twilight tour of the Michigan State Former asylum. Vanessa was our guide and her name at birth was Benjamin. She/he was the son of the director of the asylum. She/he grew up on the grounds.

Best photo of the day!
Some of the plans have gone by the waist side.
This was the best part of the tour.
There are tunnels that connect most of the buildings.
She/he turned all the lights off at one point.
We ended the evening with some great whiskey

After a long day we headed back for a sunset cruise.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
