Day 15 – 6/18/22 – TownePlace Suites Bourbon Trail, Louisville, KY – Summer Road-trip

This morning started with a nice breakfast at Biscuit Belly. This is the idea of two pharmacists turned restauranteurs! I tried the biscuit cooked as French toast. It was delicious!

Gotta love the bathroom sign!
Mark got a fancy coffee drink.

Then we were off to our first distillery. Lux Row distillery which was started by 2 men, Paul Lux and David Sherman, Sr back in 1958. They started as a private label bottler and grew into a producer, bottler, importer and marketer.

We ate some of that yellow stuff and now I see the weird girl behind Jenny twirling her hair. Did we eat some of her hair?
This was our tour guide. I want that pocket microphone/ headset with the side speaker on her hip! It was awesome!
Really? Let’s stop this crap!
It was a beautiful day outside!
The bourbon really did get better with the chocolates! One chocolate was a dried cherry dipped in dark chocolate.
I went nuts in the gift shop!
This barn was on the Lux property.

We had some time before the next appointment so Mark had found Barton’s which was free to visit and tour. We decided to just do a tasting. So we pull in and the guard gate woman was a hoot! She gave us directions “Your gonna go down this road and it goes around so far it’s gonna kick you around like a broken horseshoe!” And she was right.

This was our ticket to a tasting!!!
Nick and I were surprised at how much we enjoyed this stop! The bourbon was delicious!

Next up was our appointment at Jim Beam! Definitely a favorite bourbon of mine!

Our driver was ready for fun!
Copper distillery.
Mark got his entire hand stilled over with whiskey!

We got to make our own bottle of Knobs Creek! Three and Nicks thumb print is on the top!

We had heard about this cute whiskey liquor store. Had to check it out before dinner.

Dinner was at the Rickhouse and everyone said it’d be hard to find. We found the back door first. Hahahahaha

Salmon with a blueberry sauce.
There’s an individual air conditioning in the toilet room! Hahahaha
I would love to come back and do these museums.

Then it was back to the lobby to watch Game 1 which is in CO.

Not a happy group. Let’s just go to bed and see what tomorrow brings.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
