Day 6 – 6/9/22 – Birmingham, MI – Summer Road-trip

Today we got moving early and went to Red Run Country Club in Royal Oak, MI. We met Joe and Cheryl – Manager and Membership director. They happily showed us around and we used the workout room for an hour then went to the pool and had a nice lunch!

They have a golf simulator!
This is the beautiful entry to the pool area.
I love how they had all the swim team record breakers on the walls!
The pavers were pretty cool!
They did some major renovations on their clubhouse and now the copper roofs are the final detail.

After we went back home and showered and changed, we headed over to Oakland Hills. It’s just so devastating! It’s still hardly sinking in!

This is a view from the First Tee office area.
Nick did some warm up shots while I stayed behind and watched.

We still had some time before our tee time so we went to look for the pickleball courts. Instead we found these. It’s a miniature tennis court.

With a very nice seating area outside.
This is the walkway to the new dinning temporary building. Hope to see it open soon.

Nick got his GPS cart on the South. Apparently, using a cart on the South is still very slim. Not a ton of others out here with a cart!

Coming off the 18th the Clubhouse usually greets you with this “welcome in”.
The course is still spectacular!

After 18 we went up to the halfway house on the North course and hung out for a drink. We then ordered dinners to go so we could get home to watch the Bolts v Rangers game. This is a big game because the series is tied and we need this to keep momentum!

View of 18 on the North from the patio area.
It was busy for the dining room.
The Cobb salad was a good choice!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
