Day 29 – 5/23/22 – Stock Island Marina Village, Stock Island, Key West, FL

Monday morning and the mechanics arrived. They worked all morning and into the afternoon. I headed to the pool and Nick was able to join me on and off as the mechanics sometimes needed his assistance.

We were reading next to the pool until it started raining a bit too much. Then we walked down to the coffee shop and eventually we went over the other tiki bar to try out the Sloppy Joes Cafe.

This schooner has a awesome history.

The sailboat above was commissioned for General Patton in 1939. He wanted to sail her around the world upon his return. Sadly he would never have that opportunity. But she was restored like new in 2013 and is put to good use giving tourist beautiful sunset cruises!

Do you think she came all the way from Chicago?

The rain stopped so we were back at the pool. Nick jumped right in and I used the hammock.

This guy was angry.

We needed to assist the mechanics back at the boat so to pass the time we played Gin. We are pretty competitive. Look at this call – we both were sitting on 2 aces.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
