Today Nick got up at 5:20 am. He had an appointment with a hair stylist to make him beautiful again. I was shocked that he did it! He said he arrived at Omar the Barbers place at 5:48 am and Omar was cutting someone else’s hair!!! Nick got back about an hour later and looked like a million bucks!
We started our day headed out to expand our minds by learning about the Little White House! The house was built for two Navy families and was originally beachfront property before the Navy drugged the channel and created a larger backyard of the house. In 1912 President Taft was the first President to stay at the house when he was en route to the Panama Canal. Then on 1918 Thomas Edison lived in the house while working on new weapons for the war effort.
When we got inside the house it was a very controlled tour. The first room we entered had a 7 seat poker table that had a very cool wooden top that would convert the poker table into a plain round table. Walking straight back through that room there was a very cool bar in the back that was larger than expected. Old Grand-Dad bourbon is said to be the favorite of Pres. Truman and he had a shot every morning.
Did you know that FDR was President for 12 years – the first 8 yrs Garner was his VP, the next 4 yrs Wallace was VP, then Truman was VP for only 3 months and FDR died! Truman wasn’t even up on all the issues – he didn’t know about many war effort events.
FDR commissioned a new presidential seal but died before it came about – Truman finished it with an Executive Order.
This display was interesting. Basically said that Truman shouldn’t have won the 1948 election. FDRs former VP (before Truman) entered the race by forming a new party. He walked out of the Democrat Party and made his new party and called it the Progressive Party and was endorsed by the Communist Party! Also Strom Thurman was in the 1948 Presidential race but broke off from the Democrat Party in protest of their creation of the Civil Right Department and he called himself a Dixiecrat. So the DNC was a mess and it was a shocker that with all that division Truman still won!

Currently gas prices are at $4.89 in Key West and there is no hope for an end to the increases. So I’m not surprised that the Biden stuff is on clearance.
When we got back we enjoyed a quiet evening watching the PGA Tournament in Souther Hills (Oklahoma) featuring Tiger while playing a competitive game of scrabble!
