Day 15 – 5/9/22 – Matar Farm, Waynesville, NC

The morning started early with an overcast sky. So we are hoping for a better sunrise tomorrow. After some coffee and a little breakfast we headed out to find the waterfalls that create beauty across this land! The one we went to was on an Indian Reservation and it was really untouched and not the easiest to get to! They had rope tied around trees to help you balance. At one point some young men were climbing back up past us and they had to do quite the maneuver to get up. That was a wake up call for this old gal!

The men went all they way down!

These falls after on the Cherokee Reservation. It’s the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation. It is one of only three federally recognized Cherokee tribes. There are 15,300 members that live on the 56,000 acres.

Cocktails on the deck of the wine cellars were perfect!!! Thanks to Linda for hiking them up the 3 or 4 stories!

Dirty gin martinis with three blue cheese olives! A perfect ending to a great day!

Thank you again – Linda made a fabulous shrimp and pasta dish for dinner. Then she beat me at another game – Rummy Fun.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
