Day 9 – 3/14/22 – Westin Maui Resort & Spa Ka’anapali – Kapalau The Plantation Golf Course

Today we headed to The Plantation Course to see if we could survive the crazy curves and turns of this course.

This is the practice area.
Practice area.
This was the short drive from the practice area.
Look at the beautiful sky!
That is the island Malok’i in the background.

We got the good fortune of getting paired up with one guy that knew the course really well. He was a Canadian from Saskatchewan. A retired school teacher that got free golf here because he does a lot of volunteer work for the Sentry tournament. He gave some amazing advice as we tried to play this challenging course. It was not only a crazy course – but the wind was wicked!

David (our golf partner) said most all of the greens break toward Malok’i except two. He also said the grain will change the speed of your putts. When you putt with the grain it was

When you putt with the grain toward Molak’i the stintmeter was 12.5 – however going against the grain and away from Molak’i it was 8.5. This made it really difficult to putt!!!

This course is on the west side of Maui situated on the mountains so the slopes are dramatic and the views are breathtaking!

Great day!

Drinks after the round.

We had dinner scheduled at The Plantation House right at the golf course. I had time to shower and change in the locker room.

Garlic shrimp!
Brussel sprouts
Nicks steak
My short ribs!
Our view from the table!

I highly recommend this golf course and I highly recommend this restaurant! Definitely a great day!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
