Lucca, Italy – Grande Universe Hotel 8/31/21

Today was a regrouping day. We needed to get some things taken care of and rest our feet from all the walking.

Found a new coffee and pastry spot. Caffè di Lucca!

We walked Lucca – taking everything in and just enjoying the calm. We got our laundry done with a bit of help from the locals at the laundromat. Then the challenging event to find a good lunch place.

So we went to his favorite spot for his favorite lunch.
I ate half of this! Too much!!!
We hit some shops and more postcards were sent!

Nick likes to say that I am singlehandedly keeping the postcard business alive.

This is the statue in our piazza.

Giuseppe Garibaldi is the Father of the Fatherland. He was said to be the one of the greatest generals of modern times. He was also called the “Hero of two worlds”. Basically because of his military work in Europe and South America. There are statues of him in Chicago and NYC!

I think this is a venue for concerts. It sits across the piazza from our hotel.
For dinner we met with the happy couple! Seems like their anticipation of the wedding has been a lot considering Covid made it be postponed a year.

Walking back to the hotel was actually really cool! Everything is lit up here! Not sure if they do it for the tourists or they are just Italian and they have style!

This is Nick checking on the car. I wonder how many parking tickets we will get this time.

Another great day relaxing and discovering Italy!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
