Lucca, Italy – Grand Universe AC Hotel. 8/29/2021
This day started with some coffee and clean up! We had to pack everything in the car and get out of the hotel and move on to our next and most important stop!!!
As soon as we entered we stopped for coffee.
The GPS wouldn’t take us to the hotel because (as she said) “it’s a restricted access area”. That didn’t stop Nick! We pulled up right to the front door. Unloaded our luggage and headed to a cafe for some vino!
After Nick checked in he wanted to find a cafe to grab some food. And I couldn’t pass up these adorable white tents that were just calling my name!
Here is the wonderful variety I saw! And they were all French! It was vendors from Paris!!!
It was a fabulous market that they do often in Lucca! It’s held for 4 days from Thursday to Sunday. I got lucky and caught it before it shut down and really enjoyed the shopping! I caught up with Nick and he ordered my lunch for me.
After lunch we walked around a bit and then headed back to the hotel because our room was ready for us!
It’s a great room! We were promised a suite but there were none available because we checked in a day early. Roberto said we will get one tomorrow. Next – we had to check out the rooftop bar. The actual bar is closed due to CoVid but it’s BYOB!!!
Being a Sunday – we didn’t feel like we could do much – so we decided to walk as much as we could to get a good feel for Lucca!
After allowing our meal to settle in we decided to walk it off. I think that was Nicks way to find a gelato spot! He keeps saying he’s going to get something different but he always chooses strawberry! I got lemon – of course!
