Day 231 @ The Moorings at Carrabelle, Carrabelle, FL – The Great Loop Boat Trip

11/15/19

The day started at 6:30 am! We headed out of the beautiful Sandestin resort. It will be al long day for Aquasition but we must try to make it to Carrabelle FL. Happy Birthday to me! I’m 51 today. My brother always used to get my Mom a gift on his birthday. He would tell her that she did all the work and she should be celebrated. He’s a good guy! I miss my Mom today!

One of the last requests Mom had was to take a cruise on our new boat. She was very serious. She want to figure out a way to get on the boat and go for a cruise. I think she was just happy that we were enjoying such an adventurous trip that she wanted to participate! She wanted to be part of this trip and she didn’t know how to experience what I get to experience. So here – here are some beautiful photos of our day on the water and here are some photos of my Mom.

This is the Intracoastal Waterway of Northern Florida – this is for you Mom!

This is a gorgeous boat we passed on our way.

And here is more of the nature of the “Forgotten Coast”.

We came upon a few bridges. And there was very little problem as they were ready for us.

This last photo is the last photo I took with Mom before she got sick and went into the hospital. We went to the Bistro at her Assisted Living and we had Sweet Potato fries! She loved the people there and they enjoyed her! I’ll never again eat a sweet potato fry without thinking of you Mom.

We arrived at The Moorings and fueled up. Turns out there was a mix up and our slip was given to somebody else. We stayed on the gen for the night and stayed at the fuel dock. Made a quick cheese plate with summer sausage for dinner and drank our best wine!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
