Day 212 @ Palafox Pier Yacht Harbor, Pensacola, Florida – The Great Loop Boat Trip

10/27/19

There isn’t much to write about. Last night I stayed with Mom because she had just transferred from the hospital to the nursing home and she was very scared. My guess is she doesn’t really like the Skilled Care part of Smith Crossings because she doesn’t really know much about it. She has one friend that is living here too. Her friend is Lois and she used to live next to Mom in Assisted Living. This is the nice thing about a progressive facility. She was awake every 15 to 20 minutes complaining about her back and comfort in the bed. Then around 4am she slept for about 35 minutes. The CNAs were able to reposition her for the 4th time and she fell back to sleep for another 40 minutes. At 6:30 am she woke up and wanted to get out of bed and walk. She’s confident she can walk but they don’t allow it until PT does an evaluation. I had to take her mind off it until someone showed up. So we ordered breakfast and talked about Mindy and Jack. People didn’t start showing up until about 10am. I stayed and tried to entertain her until about 2:30. After about 14 hours at Smith Crossings I got to leave and have lunch. I crashed hard by the time I got back to Johns place. A nice restorative nap until 5:15 pm then got up showered and went with John to get Jody and meet Nick, Frank and Martha at Francesca’s.

Fabulous dinner and so wonderful getting to know Jody and seeing my wonderful friends!!! What is Martha doing with her hand?

Had to make fun of her….

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
