Day 211 @ Palafox Pier Yacht Harbor, Pensacola, Florida – The Great Loop Boat Trip

10/26/19

Today was another difficult day but we felt very fortunate that we had the comfort of John’s place in Frankfort to wake up to – along with a tribute to the White Sox! John has some of the best displays!

We got up and headed to Silver Cross Hospital to see Mom.

The leaves greeted us on the sidewalk and were such a pretty color!

Once inside we spent some quality time with Mom.

Silver Cross Hospital entry way had signs of the old building. This hospital used to be in Joliet and when they built this new building in New Lenox they closed the Joliet hospital.

It was a very long day of helping Mom and rotating family members in the room. Aunt Eve took some time to come visit Mom and that was very nice. Then we all met with the Hospice Nurse and Nick stayed with Mom. He ran down the line up of sporting events on TV and she chose to watch Tiger Woods playing golf in Japan! They had a great time while we were able to get our questions answered and sign Mom up for full time Hospice care. So we did the only thing we could. We dealt with it the beverage way… we drank our dinner at a party in the basement of a New Lenox home.

Then we found some professional women!

Love it!!!

Then not sure if this is in focus.

After the party I went straight to Smith Crossings Skilled Care to relieve my little sister Toni. I would be on the 12:30 to 11am shift. That painting is one my Dad did as a surprise for my Mom for their 50th wedding anniversary. He never lived to give it to her and he didn’t have it completed when he died. A friend finished it for him and my Mom looks at it every day.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
