Day 201 @ Bay Springs Marina, New Site, Mississippi – The Great Loop Boat Trip

10/16/19

Well we need to move the boat. Not because we are done here but because it’s getting cold.

Beautiful landscape!

This is the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway.

It is 235 miles of a man made waterway that links the Gulf of Mexico with the Tennessee River. It connects near Demopolis, Alabama with the Black Warrior – Tombigbee River. It took 12 years to build this by the Army Corp of Engineers and was finished in Dec 1984. Here is a train going over us as we navigate this river.

Then we saw this. It must be connected to a reservoir of some sort.

Only saw one Looper today. But lots of small fishing boats!

Song of the day: Crusin’ by Huey Lewis and the News.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
