It was a gorgeous day for a boat ride! Only 81 miles and one lock that raised us about 28 feet.
There was a black cloud hovering for a while but it never rained. The sun kept peeking through. For the most part the scenery was green and some hills but about half of it was carved cliffs and bluffs like these! So many beautiful homes over looking the river.

But we were traveling in to sunny skies!

We both wondered if the homes were just as scenic and beautiful in the setting they have in the front yard? Doesn’t matter – I’m sure most are bought for the backyard view!

There were so many Loopers today! We passed several on the river and I got some pretty good shots of them.

It is always nice to get photos of your boat! Then we all clumped up at the Pickwick Lock.

The huge measure told me that this was gonna be one big lift!
Once we were all in position Captain Nick hailed the lockmaster and said all 6 boats were secure. Then we heard him say he saw a few more on the AIS. So I guess we will wait.

This is a look up from the bottom of the boulder that moves as the lock fills.

Lots of room for everyone!

Then the top of the lock came and the doors parted like Moses parted the sea!

It was time to break free!!!

Heading to Aqua Yacht Harbor Marina.

We were told it was the best. But I wasn’t convinced! When we got there the current was really strong and tried to push us into the fuel dock hard but Captain Nick and his nerves of steel gave a gentle landing and we fueled up! All these slips are covered so there will be no Satellite TV!
Nick found a way to watch his Tampa Bay Rays!
Yes that’s the Spanish channel but it was the only thing that he could get! I went to check out the restaurant and bar. Um… they only serve beer?
Where am I?
