This morning we woke late. Nick is still fighting off a terrible cold and he had coughing fits in the night. I went in to see if Stacy the secret chef had made the cinnamon buns for breakfast and she had 2 left waiting for us! How thoughtful!!!
This is a picture of the marinas collection of Indian arrow heads that have been found on the banks of the Tennessee River in this area.
After breakfast we borrowed the courtesy car and went into Savannah TN for the Walmart.

We passed a quarry which is where many of the barges on the river probably get their loads.

It was an exciting time for me! I absolutely love school supplies. So I sorta got lost down these isles!
Look everyone!!! Nick is at a store! This does not happen very often.
The drive back was pretty and a bit adventurous! We decided to look for gas in Clifton. It’s a pretty small town. I mean small!

We found a flag and an observation area. We stopped for a quick look and it was a beautiful tribute for the people of this family and country oriented town!
This plaque tells you who designed and paid for this memorial!
But the solemn and strong statement of these plaques did not overshadow the nature of the Tennessee River this spot governed.

It is important to remember that this river was instrumental in the civil war. So many battles fought along it banks! Shiloh battlefield is almost 4,000 acres just south of here. And Johnson City (where the confederacy ammunition stockpile) was just North of here.

My mind went crazy with all the history and I started to google some of this to refresh my memory. Just then a boat was approaching and it looked like a Looper!

Back in the car Nick was ready to move out of History Class and on to Shop Class.
More of the cute Clifton downtown!

Back at the boat, we enjoyed a slow evening. We cooked up some sausages and had a nice salad. As Nick slept to help kick his cold, I ran over to meet the other loopers that arrived. The boats were Spinning Dreams 3 (the boat in my pictures), Salty Dog and Sea C Rider. Again – so great meeting Loopers! Many of these are new to the Loop, starting in Chicago and St Louis.
