It was a sleep in kinda morning. Nick had another coughing spell so neither one of us got much sleep. When we woke up we got several things done on the boat. While Nick cleaned all the filters and found sandy mud and leaves in them I ran down to Peggy and asked her to pick up some NyQuil on her run to the store. I did all the laundry and dusted and Then cleaned out the kitchen cabinets. I went out to check on Nick’s progress and I saw this cool dinner cruise but it was really lunch time? After a search online, I discovered it sometimes a sightseeing cruise and it launches in the morning!
Then Barbara from ‘Meant To Be’ came by and I had a chance to relax and chat with her. It was getting hot so we headed to the pool for a quick dip. Also had to go into the marina office and let them know some parts are coming via USPS and they will have to overnight them to another Marina for us. These are the complications of this Loop. Luckily the Marinas love Loopers so they don’t seem to mind helping us out once in a while.
Somehow no matter what we did we could hear the Oyster Bar calling our names. So we went upstairs for lunch and drinks!

Afterwards we tried to get this bar to open but to no avail.
Since we were heading out in the morning Nick decided to invite some Loopers over for a cocktail. Some of the Loopers were telling us about the Lock just past Alton. The Mel Price Lock is where 30% of the WORLDS grain passes through here. The commercial traffic can put a real stop to pleasure crafts getting through. It seems like the consensus is that we can make the run tomorrow if we can Mel Price Lock and the Chain of Rocks Lock that is 15 miles further. It’s all about how you treat the lockmasters on the VHF and luck! ![]()
Relaxing on the back we saw that same dinner cruise go past again.

Today we played mostly Motown on the boat, it has been my go to music when I clean but for some reason Jimmy Buffet kept coming up as a suggestion. I kept ignoring it then Nick tells me he was on his Surface Laptop and bought Jimmy Buffet tickets for December in Tampa. Sounds like a blast!
