Day 179 @ Grafton Harbor Marina, Grafton, Illinois – The Great Loop Boat Trip

9/24/19

What a day! Rolled out of bed late because Nick had a terrible cough all night that kept both of us awake. He took whatever pills we had but it just didn’t help much. Once we rallied we got our act together and took off for the fuel dock across the river and through the woods in St. Charles, Missouri.

The topography of this area is surprisingly beautiful! It was a slow easy ride! The weather was perfect! Like I’ve been saying, we are chasing 75 degrees!!!

Noticed this looper boat so I decided I will take photos when I can and post them to the Looper Facebook page. Mostly because it’s so hard to get a nice picture of your own boat!

Then we saw the Dock Lines Restaurant. It looked so cute!

The ride back near the lighthouse was so relaxing.

Back to our spot.

These are just the loopers I could see. There are so many Loopers in this Marina! I wish I could meet them all!

Then we found where the Canadian Geese were hanging out!

When we got everything settled and the boat had a full belly of fuel – we decided to go see the sites! Started with wine!!!

Then we tried to take some nice photos outside. I think we proved here that we can’t take nice pictures.

He is trying to impress me.

Nick got a meat pizza at the winery. Because nothing goes better with Cabernet like pepperoni.

Quote: I can see our boat from here.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
