Day 172 @ National Sales Marina, Peoria, Illinois – The Great Loop Boat Trip

9/17/19

Good morning cute little Ottawa! We’d love to stay but we must move on. There are just so many Loopers and so little time!

We approached the Starved Rock Lock and got in right away – no waiting so I didn’t even get many photos!

This is the smallest boat we’ve seen on the Loop this year. Look closely – they have 3/ 5 gallon fuel tanks strapped to their roof. That is for a few of the distances that likely their fuel tank can’t carry enough fuel to reach.

Very quick tie off and even swifter exit!

National Sales Marina had room for us. So we fueled up at IVY and headed over for our spot for the night.

The view out the front was pretty! We got invited to a BBQ and Docktails! Had a chance to meet some pretty neat Loopers!

The people were the best!

We met Sam & Rev from Here’s to Us – they do a YouTube diary on their trip. It is really neat!

Jane & Charles from Nepidae – who also had a Carver!

And we met our friends that we first met in Kingston ON Marina

Janet & Dan on Idyll Time III.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
