Day 167 @ Chicago Yacht Club, Chicago, Illinois – The Great Loop Boat Trip

9/12/19

Well, we had to prepare for our quick departure after this final weekend in Chicago. So I somehow talked my loving husband into stocking up at the grocery store – and him in the first mate role. Mariano’s here we come!

Does anyone realize how important Jays potato chips are in my life?!?!?!

We were both very engaged for today at the Art Institute of Chicago. We were one and two of the 1.8 million that visit each year. It opened in 1879 and with several expansions in their Grant Park location they are the second largest collection of art only to the Met in NYC.

This is one of the Institutes famous painting called Nighthawks by Hopper.

This is titled Two Dancers by Degas. Degas was a recluse and very eccentric but he loved painting dancers. He never liked being called an Impressionist. Yet his use of light suggests he was an influential founding member of the Impressionist.

This is a Renoir titled Two Sisters. Beautiful!

Ok – just so everyone knows – Nick and I staged this photo! We thought it would be funny. The Surat is probably one the the Institutes most famous paintings.

Families don’t look that different today.

Nick found the Members Lounge.

Quote of the day: Don’t you want to see the miniatures?

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
