Good morning to a beautiful city! The video below is the view of the city from London House!
It was a slow morning but we got up and headed to London House for lunch. No breakfast. No lunch. London House is on top of the Hilton – rooftop location with a cupola. The menu was very eclectic but Nick enjoyed his egg Benedict and I had the most vanilla thing…. the American breakfast with scrambled eggs. Bob didn’t seem to live his choice of the French toast.

Food pics

During the meal Bob had felt something in his pocket of his short that apparently he had not cleaned out before the last washing.
We spent some of our afternoon helping him piece together this pile of fuzz. But to no avail! Then we had to take some photos because the view was awesome!

There were people trying to get in that spot for the photo op.

So then we headed to the cupola.

I couldn’t help but ask other tourist to take our photo! Everyone seemed cooperative.

When we got outside a beautiful bride was heading inside. It looked like the just came from the church! I had to ask for a selfie! Beautiful woman!!!

Who is that crazy groomsmen!?!? That had to be a fun wedding party! So Nick got in on the fun too!

Tons of photo bombers!!! I think Carol and Bob were impressed with me and my skills. It was a great day in the city! Nick and Carol went to find a riverside spot while Bob and I ran to Walgreens for a few items. Then we did a tour of the river trying to find them – poor instructions on Nick’s part. But we did see this little beauty on the bridge.
Once we found them we headed to a spot with games.

I challenged Bob to a game of Connect Four. Guess who won? Bob also made a poor choice of ordering nachos. He ate some cardboard like nachos at the game place – that could’ve been his concentration problems with the game. We headed back to the boat to regroup!

Bob wanted to relax on the bow with his lovely wife but I found them and chased him away.

Not sure how we did it but we secured a reservation at Barton G’s. Carol had heard of this place and it’s cool presentation skills. Here’s a pic of us in the Uber.

It’s on the corner of Hubbard and Dearborn!

We were awed as we walked in seeing all the plates and presentations!

When the cocktails arrived it was amazing!

It was hard to pick a meal. I suggested to try the Lobster Pop Tarts as an appetizer but we decided on a dessert instead.
I got the Orange Salmon for dinner.
Nick got the Lobster Mac N Cheese.
Carol got the Seafood Risotto and it looked like a whale of a dish! She reported that the whale was very heavy! But definitely the best dish was Bob’s – he ordered a Filet Mignon.
The little cow creamer had au jus sauce inside! All four of us were shocked at how delicious and perfectly cooked the food tasted! It was full of flavor and very well prepared! The table next to us got a Porterhouse steak! First the server showed the raw steak then it was delivered on a lawnmower!

They also ordered a different dessert! This was a cotton candy head with cupcakes all around the base.

Somehow we knew which dessert was the best because our server told us so after we placed our order.
It was shocking – none of us had welding masks except the server!!! It was delicious!

The thin layer of gold painted chocolate was melted and it exposed a layer of marshmallows that got burned. Under the marshmallows was 3 layers of chocolate mousse and whipped chocolate. But a very interesting part was the vanilla bean ice cream with gold painted carmel corn! Yum!!!
Once we got a shopping bag for all our leftovers, we rolled outta there to grab an Uber back to the boat! We had a date with the city’s final fireworks for the summer! Perfect view from our bow.

Great day and fabulous night!
Quote of the day: Bobs reply to me when I offered some of the ornaments from my cocktail. “No I don’t want a bite of your chocolate monkey, Teri!”
Second best Quote of the day: Me to Bob “You look good with a big ass fork!”
