Day 137 @ Sister Bay Marina, Sister Bay, Wisconsin – Great Loop Boat Trip

Waking up in Wisconsin! That will be the title to my next book! Many of you don’t know this about me but I used to create children’s books for my kids when they were little. Usually it was a Disney story that I put my weird twist on or a story with an alternative ending. I mention this because this is where I started it when they were tots! That all started here in Sister Bay, Wisconsin! First stop this morning was to Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant! Goats were on the roof!

Here is a link to their live goat cam.

You can actually see our boat from one of the cameras.

The food was delicious as usual! I had the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries and Swedish meatballs.

Nick studied the menu!

He’s very predictable! He got the strawberry and ice cream topping on his Swedish Pancakes!

The place was exactly the same!

Then we went exploring around the town! It’s a short exploration because the town is so small! We really had fun on the scooters and surprisingly the traffic was busy but forgiving and friendly! It’s a vacation town so everyone is happy to be here! We met and chatted with Bruce – our boat neighbor. His wife and her sister were so kind to offer their car! Turns out they have lots in common! So we invited them to our boat before or after a hockey game in Tampa! After regrouping at the boat we headed out to get a bite before the show.

And soon we were panicking about getting an Uber or Lyft to help us get to our show! We got tickets to see Ghost, the musical at Peninsula Players in Fish Creek! Peninsula Players is America’s oldest resident summer theatre. Definitely a recommended stop – my opinion!

We got there early and enjoyed the water view.

We were invited to join a group of women who had prepared a huge spread. So sweet of them! Very interesting group! And Lightning fans!

Such a fun group! We invited them to visit us before or after a hockey game in Tampa. Then it was time for the musical! What a neat place!

Here is a view of the theatre. This used to be an open air – just a roof – now it’s enclosed.

Intermission came and we found the huge fire pit!

Such a great time – I had to take more photos of the place!

Afterwards, as we waited for our Uber – the full moon was looking down at us!

Adventure of the day: Drinking a bottle of water inside 1 minute then pouring our glass of wine in the water bottle then sneaking it into the theatre so we can drink during the show. Definition of sneaky!

Our Uber surprisingly enough came in less than 5 minutes and Nick enjoyed talking to the Uber driver about his family’s tool and die business. I didn’t know he knew so much about progressive stamping dies or the unique customer base in the Milwaukee area of Allan Bradley, Briggs and Stratton, Harley Davidson and GE Med Systems – – my Captain never ceases to amaze me

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
