Day 121 @ Thunder Bay Shores Marina, Alpena, Michigan – Great Loop Boat Trip

Good morning to beautiful Michigan! I’m so happy to be here! It was a busy morning! First we helped Dave get his GT back in the garage by pushing it. He took it out and the electricity went haywire on him. He’s restoring this car and it’s almost completely done but apparently it needs more work!

It was so familiar – all the times I pushed my car in HS!

This is his other car he’s restoring. A firebird!

Dave said he bought the house because he fell in love with the garage. Goodbye to Dave’s awesome new home! Then it was off to a laundromat to get everything clean! I do have a washer and dryer on the boat but it’s just easier to do towels and rugs on land. They dry so much quicker. Once we completed that, we fueled up at Jimmy Johns Sandwich shop – love the #12 and fueled up the car and hit the road back to Alpena!

Can’t wait to see Melissa! My childhood best friend! She helped me with the tough times in 3rd grade through HS. Which for me was a ton!

We took some great photos!

Then I caught the birthday girl and her group on the bow so I twisted their arm to play King of the World.

We all agreed that Rose should have let Jack get on the big door with her. (Titanic movie reference).

Hunger got the better of us so we hit the local craft brew/pizza place. The Fresh Palate was a great dinner spot for pizzas or burgers. It was awesome!

Then Todd & Melissa helped us out on returning the rental car – which proved to be challenging. We got to the place and there was no drop box. The only spot looked like it was locked. Until Melissa just lifted the lid and bam! there it was! Back to the boat for a night cap or two or three! How fun to just hang out and be yourself! Thanks Melissa, Maureen and Todd!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
