It was a gorgeous day! The weather was slight overcast all day but the sun kept trying to peek through and did so successfully a few times. We left pretty early from Lakefield just because we wanted to make it far but we wanted to have a spot with electricity. Nick found a marina that took reservations for tonight so we shoved off and we were hoping to see our friends Milton and Julie from Here’s an Idea! They were on the wall at Lovesick lock last we saw and Julie said we might meet up!
Lock 27 Young’s Point
7.3 ft lift
It was beautiful scenery as we made our way around the waterways.

Then we arrived at a large lock.
Lock 28 Burleigh Falls
24 ft lift

Soon I’m texting Julie and we see what is said to be the prettiest lock on the entire system!
Lock 30 Lovesick
3.5 ft lift
The legend of Lovesick lock is a Native Anishnaabe man fell in love with a red haired Irish settler. Prejudice and social circumstances kept them apart, so the man cast his fate to one of the small islands and was eventually found passed away by fishermen. Lovesick is a beautiful place to pay tribute to forbidden or lost loves!

I was able to pass off a package I was holding for Milton since he left a bit early from Croton on Hudson.

Before the next lock we had about 6 miles of this.

Lock 31 Buckhorn
11.5 ft lift

Those kids were catching tons of fish and they liked our boat!
Next up was Pigeon Lake and it was gorgeous! Perfect spot! So we went and docked in our spot at Gordon Yacht Marina in Bobcaygeon and dropped the dinghy!

I spotted this in the Marina store. Hey-I know that dog, it’s Ambers dog ladder and Bo on the demonstration pic.
Then we dropped the dinghy to go discover Pigeon Lake and maybe take a swim.

Next we went into town to see what dinner we could scratch up! Found a sports pub and sat at the bar.

A quick stop at the grocery store and I noticed these cool old photos in the entryway. These townies love their history!

They are also funny!

Great day!
