Day 103 @ Valleyfield Marina, Valleyfield, Quebec

What a day! Got up early to see off our wonderful friends Terry and Raquel!!! Good bye to Old Port Montréal.

We headed out to find fuel and then to the first of a series of locks. First we waited at the pleasure craft dock area. Nick called them on his cell (only way) and first they told us it would be until 2 pm. So nick spoke French and thanked them. Then he got a call (in French) and they let us go through around about 2.5 hours earlier than originally stated.

So get up and go!

Oh yeah and funny thing…. after we raised the boat about 4 stories I noticed the metal swing bridge. I asked the lock worker if the bridge will open now that the lock doors are open. His response was awesome!!!! “We don’t control the bridge, that is a different company.” Lmao! So we actually waited about 10 minutes for the bridge to open.

It was a busy day.

Next lock.

After we left that lock another one came up real fast!

This door looked new!

This swing bridge swung in towards us! We were pretty darn close!

This bridge went up! Just this middle portion! We’ve seen a few of these but this was the largest one that was designed like this.

I had made some Italian beef for sandwiches so it was a quiet night on the boat at Valleyfield.

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
