Day eighty three @ Half Moon Bay Marina, Croton-On-Hudson, NY

Another very cool day on this epic trip! We started the day headed out to take care of some errands and it turned into an adventure through Sleepy Hallow Cemetery!

We heard Rockefeller’s were buried here so we went to investigate.

We found a single quarter left at the mausoleum. We didn’t touch it as I felt it may be a good luck sign or something important.

It was a beautiful spot to be buried. Overlooking a creek and high on a hill. Peaceful!

Here’s a picture of two oil and gas guys who did very well. Rockefeller’s were wealthier than the riches people we see today in the US. 4 to 5 times Bill Gates wealth – according to interweb sources.

Then we also found that Andrew Carnegie was also buried in the same cemetery so we went to see that as well.

He also had his staff buried near him which was amazing in that day!

Andrew Carnegie started US Steel and was against monopolies. He sold it to JP Morgan and became the wealthiest man in America and the biggest philanthropist.

Then there was a very sad area I walked through.

Many other very notable people are buried here according to Wikipedia.

We then went to grab lunch. Found a cute Greek restaurant!

Two men sitting next to us over heard me talking about the Frick Museum and how Frick was connected with Carnegie. He started telling me what he knew about how horrible Frick was and the disaster he was responsible for causing. Very awesome to have such history all around us. Also – Washington Irving was also buried in Sleepy Hallow Cemetery.

Next we ran our errands at the AT&T store.

We waited in line behind these Russian speaking college students. They were from Kazakhstan, so they’re nomads.

Then it was off to get some craft beer at Tarry Tavern.

Such a cute town!

That picture above is the majestic library! Then we saw the stately middle school. In Florida these buildings would be repurposed for the administration and trailers used for school and kids.

It was a great day exploring the town!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
