We said goodbye to our beloved FL Yacht Club and to the last reciprocal club as we begin our exit out of FL! Last stop before the final exit is Amelia Island. Here are some last moment views of FL Yacht Club.
The clubhouse…
The view

The view from our boat.

It was another adventure passing Jacksonville as the draw bridge for the train was down and we had to wait as a white F150 truck drove by on the train track. Weird!

Finally got thru and then we had a few more bridges.

There was some major construction going on.

Looks like the Hyatt is getting a dock! And it’s close to the football stadium. I think we might do the UF v UGA in the future!
Then we had a leisurely trip up the ICW. There was so much talk of shoaling (bottom changing depth from storms) that one Dockmaster recommended we call Boat US and ask for their update. We did that and learned a ton that was useful. No wake on in to Amelia Island Marina for good reason – lots of wildlife! I saw dolphin, manatees and turtles and that was before we docked!

Gotta love my reading glasses in my head while I wear the sunglasses! Lmao!!!
Then we went to Breakaway for lasagna night! Another awesome meal made by Michelle in her Instapot!
Damn I’m getting good at that selfie stick! Nailed it!
After dinner we watched some music videos and soon Milton and Julie popped in from “Here’s an idea!” Cute name!
We had a blast hearing their stories! They once took a pontoon boat from Memphis to New Orleans! The best story was the quote of the day – “I’m too old and too rich to be doin this shit!” Lmao!!!! Also- “What was your contribution Milton?” “I owned the boat!” Good times!
This is where Jeff was able to get his Indian joke in…
Patient says to Doctor: “I’m a teepee, no I’m a wigwam. I’m a teepee no I’m a wigwam.”
Doctor slaps patient and says “You’re two tents!”
Joke of the day? You be the judge!
Luckily Michelle had one of our cards to give Milton and Julie so we could keep in touch. Milton immediately noticed the name of my blog and started to comment. When he found out I blog he asked if I could teach him. Turns out he had already set it up and just needed the app on his phone and some other pointers! He was so happy! We are meeting again tomorrow morning at Michelle’s for some coffee and breakfast sandwiches and more blogging lessons! Really fun people! Very enjoyable night!
Thanks to Michelle for reaching out to them and for hosting!
