Day twenty three @ Cocoa Village Marina, Cocoa Beach, FL

Happy Easter! Happy Birthday to my wonderful son Spc. Jack Ecob. I texted many friends Happy Easter! It’s a wonderful time of year! This morning we woke to another perfect weather day. We were able to go through our mail that Lauren brought and Nick got something from the president!

We made our way to the fuel dock and filled up only about 130 gallons before venturing out on the ICW to Cocoa Beach. Goodbye to beautiful Vero Beach! This was the narrow channel in the entry/exit of Suntex of Vero. The ICW was filled with homes that we want to buy. Here is a sample of our favorites. This guy reminded us to stay in the channel on the ICW (Inner Costal Waterway). The views were amazing and I snapped photos of nature! The birds nesting on the marker pillars was the best.

When we got about half way Jeff was having engine issues. He anchored just outside of the channel and shut down to check it out. We hovered and waited with concern. He thinks he busted a belt but was not sure. It was the port engine. After a short while we were underway again but only doing 9mph. We had about 25 miles to go at 9 mph it took us just over 2.5 hours but we arrived safely. During the long slow drive I tried to encourage singing of Big 10 school fight song but Jeff just wasn’t into it. Also, Merritt Island wasn’t misnamed because someone didn’t know how to spell Meryl. It was actually named after the nobleman that the King of Spain had bequeathed the land to. Just some old guys last name.

It was about 3:00pm when we saw Cocoa Village Marina. With Jeff only really on the Starboard engine we waited for him to dock before we even approached the marina. They kept telling us that they recommended docking with our fenders up. I couldn’t imagine why. Well, I got the picture when we got there. The pillars have such large screws sticking out it could pop your fenders. Weird! As we walked to the office Michelle pointed out an egg on the deck walkway. The Mom pigeon was hovering nearby. We steered clear out of respect. It was OUR Easter egg!!!

The check in routine was fun! The guy was a Cocoa Beach officianto! Also, he gave us a brief overview of every restaurant and bar in town and his opinion as well as his wife’s opinion! Lol. So cute! Here is the view from the dock.

Then we met this nice couple, Eric and Doreen on the Third Edition. They spend summers in Charlevoix, MI. We exchanged cards and hope to meet up with them in Northern MI!

Dinner was shake n bake pork chops made on the boat in my super awesome toaster oven! Along with California mixed veggies from the Jolly Green Giant and smashed sweet potatoes from Publix! This meal reminds me of dinners my Mom used to cook!

I got to talk with Jack as he is in Leadership classes for his first process in Officer training. And Mom did FaceTime with us and enjoyed seeing the dinner!

Play off hockey on today and tonight!

Just hoping Jeff’s Volvo mechanic shows up on time tomorrow and it’s nothing serious!

Cocktail: Jack and Ginger (drinking all Jim Blackman’s Ginger Ale)! Yum!

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
