Day five @ Duck Key, FL

Good morning Florida. Last night was stressful after we went sneaking in the freezer for a late night bowl of mint chocolate chip and we discovered milk shake and not ice cream. So we spent the next 30 minutes switching to the generator then just one 50 amp.

The day is looking overcast. Michelle and Jeff grabbed their bike and headed to get some dog food for Miss Piggy and Rick and Kathy hopped on Tom and Barbi’s boat to head out and find a sandbar and sun! Nick and I wanted to practice using the tinder “Add On” so we grabbed a few cold ones and climbed in with the camera. A few nice photos of our boat at Hawks Cay.

This is the restaurant at the resort called Angler & Ale. It is an upscale new and hipster decorated bar/Florida food.

Beach/Pond that is near the family pool. And the family pool just beyond there. Pool Bar to the right and adult pool to the left. Another side of the beach/pool. We got a great look at the neighborhood next to us and of the resort villas.

These were homes along the canals of Duck Key.

This boat says it all!!! R and R in Duck Key!Gorgeous vegetation!

This is the greeting you get upon entering Hawks Cay Marina – rock and a tiny bridge. You have to make a hard turn! But doing that while going at no wake speed isn’t easy in a big boat. Luckily Captain Nick has options on this Carver 52.

I took their pic because they are sharing so well. Nick spotted a manatee near our boat yesterday. Nature is everywhere!

Then heading back we saw Rendezvous heading out to play!

Another fabulous day! Just relaxing and struggling with the cover on the dinghy. It only took about 35 minutes trying to fit it on backwards until we got it right then only 5 minutes.

Ah the struggles of boating. Is there a boater out there that likes his/her boat cover?

Teri is a retired CFO and Nick is a partner in a private equity firm. We are both very irrelevant in the business worlds. We jumped up to a 52 foot boat because we were in need of more adventure. We are on the Great Loop around the East Coast of North America. It's been a wild ride!
